Known Issues List

  • Apple macOS 10.10 is not compatible with Cisco AnyConnect. You need macOS 10.15 “Catalina,” released in October 2019.
  • Google Chromebooks are generally incompatible with Remote Desktop for connecting remotely to your computer at Purdue. Google documentation that could help: https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/1649523?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en
  • Remote Desktop and SAPGUI: users need to establish two VPN connections. First, connect to webvpn2.purdue.edu from the computer you are using remotely. Then, establish a Remote Desktop connection with your computer at Purdue. Last, using the VPN software on your campus machine, connect to the webvpn.purdue.edu/SAPGUI. This combination should give you access to your campus machine plus use of SAPGUI with ECP(EC Payroll) and S/4(Finance).
  • Note: This issue should be fixed; if not, try the following workaround. When scheduling a meeting in WebEx the attendees list for the meeting is limited to 1024 characters. Also, nonperson (such as a mailing list) or group email addresses are not accepted. The current workaround for this issue is to have the meeting creator send the invite to themselves. Once the email is received, they can then forward it to a mailing list or group.
  • Windows 10 Home does not support Remote Desktop for connecting remotely to your computer at Purdue.
  • Windows 10 S will not download the Cisco AnyConnect software – for virtual private network (VPN) connections to Purdue – from Purdue’s Community Hub. The S version of Windows 10 can only install apps from the Microsoft Store.
  • Windows 10 S does not have Remote Desktop built in.
