Email delivery changes coming soon

Effective May 20, 2024, Purdue Information Technology will implement changes to how email is delivered.  

  • New students and employees will no longer need to turn on their mailbox to receive important emails from campus departments.  
  • This primarily impacts existing users who have previously had their purdue.edu email automatically delivered to a non-Purdue email address. 

In the coming weeks, affected users will receive a follow-up communication detailing how to move over their email forwarding individually. Email will still automatically be delivered to the regional campus environments during this change.  

The main benefit of this change will be to minimize the current complexity of mail routing and reduce the number of lost emails to external (non-Purdue) email providers. This will also confer better communication with students and streamlined servicing and consistency with emergency alert notifications.
