Blame it on Black Friday. 

Every year calls to the ITaP Customer Service Center begin climbing as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday. The reason: Black Friday smartphone deals. With the purchase of a new phone, many Purdue faculty, staff and students lose access to BoilerKey – requiring them to make a phone call to get reconnected.  

The same is true for the winter holiday and anytime a new iPhone is released.  

But there is hope. Before you purchase your next phone (or lose it) you can register for BoilerKey Self-Recover, which allows you to quickly and easily setup BoilerKey on your new device without the need for additional assistance.  

To register for BoilerKey Self-Recovery, go to purdue.edu/boilerkey and click on the “Register for Self-Recovery" tile.
